Every single one of us goes through dark times.

They come and go like storms.

Even though nobody likes going through these dark times, they do serve a purpose.

I know for me, and for a lot of other highly successful people, these hard times were actually the times that made me.

That's because through the struggle, pain, and lessons these hard times bring ... you aren't given the opportunity to learn and grow.

More often than not though, going through these tough times can leave us feeling like we're starting over in life.

If you're reading this, it's probably because you feel like you're starting over in life as well.

You may be wondering ... "How can I start over in life, and still find success?"

Here's what you need to know...

You Are Never Truly "Starting Over"

The first thing you need to understand is this...

You are never actually "starting over." You aren't dying and being reincarnated. So start by ditching the mindset that you are somehow “starting over.” You aren’t.

Now, the reason you feel like you're "starting over" can be for a lot of reasons...

It could be because you've lost the momentum you once had...

It could be because you're starting at square one in a new career...

It could be because of changes to your health or environment that set you back...

But no matter what the reason may be...

As long as you have the experiences, lessons, and skills that you've built over the course of your life ... you're never truly starting over.

But let's say you're in a position where you're starting a new venture or trying to rebuild and strengthen the momentum or positive habits you've fallen out of...

What are the actionable steps you can take when it feels like you're starting from square one?

The truth is, it can look different for everyone.

For the most part though, there are a few things you can focus on to start building momentum and moving in the right direction.

Here are 5 things you should focus on if you're starting over in life....

1. Take Care of Your Mind & Body

Your mind and body are two tools that you use every single day to build the life you want.

If you're starting over in life ... I'd make sure to prioritize getting your mind and body in the best shape possible.

It would be extremely naive to think you can become successful or make significant progress in life without these two tools in peak condition.

So what do I mean when I say take care of your body and mind? Because, I think modern society has made it confusing as to what this truly means.

Taking care of yourself is not bubble baths, taking it easy, and shoving your face with junk food to "feel better."

In fact, it's the literal opposite.

Building your mind and body into sharp, indestructible tools requires real effort, commitment, and discomfort.

You should be eating foods that are good for you.

You should be exercising consistently.

You should be putting good information in your brain.

You should be doing things that make you uncomfortable by challenging yourself physically and mentally.

No … they aren’t easy. That’s the point. Building yourself into someone you’re proud of means you have to overcome challenges and struggle.

So if you’re starting over in life, and you want to start out on the right foot, make sure your tools are sharp.

I can’t think of a better way to set yourself up for success than by turning your mind and body into deadly weapons.

2. Set Massive Goals & Believe

Most people accept and settle for far less than what they truly want in life because they’re too scared to dream big enough.

A lot of this is because they don’t have a feeling of true belief in their ability to accomplish their biggest goals.

For a while, you may not either. But here’s what you have to understand about the power of setting massive goals…

Massive goals require massive action. At the same time, you won’t take massive action if the goals you set don’t require massive action.

You’ll only take the appropriate amount of action required to reach the goals you set. Even that isn’t reality. The reality is, you’ll naturally perform at a level that’s slightly less than that of what’s required for the goals you set.

We’ve all heard the saying “Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll land amongst the stars.”

Get it?

Here’s an example…

Let’s say you’re running a 100-yard dash against your 3 best friends. To prepare for the competition, you train to be faster than the fastest of your 3 friends. What happens?

More than likely, you’ll end up in second place. That’s because you’re naturally going to perform slightly under what your actual target is.

Now, if you approach the same race with the goal to be the fastest runner in the world, then you train to literally be the fastest runner in the world…

Don’t you think you’ll win the race?

The only difference between each approach is the work and preparation it takes in order to become the fastest of your friends vs the fastest in the world.

So if you’re starting over … make it worth it.

Why not pursue a life that’s far greater than your wildest dreams?

The worst that can happen is you fall short, and still end up with an incredible life.

3. Focus On Your Personal Development

Other than keeping your mind and body in peak condition ... you also need to put in the hard work to develop your mindset, skill set, and knowledge.

This is when I'd recommend taking time every day to do these things.

This could be listening to podcasts…

It could be reading books…

It could be learning new skills…

...or whatever else you can do to become more skilled and knowledgeable.

I'm a huge advocate for reading 10 pages a day ... and for good reason. The perspective and tactical information I've absorbed and applied from the books I've read have completely changed my life.

All it takes is one sentence or chunk of information that makes you think differently or teaches you something new to have a major impact on the trajectory of your life.

Think about that.

How much less will you become without the wealth of knowledge and information you could get from reading just 10 pages a day?

The answer is a lot less, and that's a fact.

I attribute a lot of my success in business and life to what I’ve learned from books and spending time on my personal development. As long as you stick with it … so will you.

4. Cultivate Your Discipline

Especially if you're starting over in the sense of building good habits and positive momentum ... you need to build the skill of discipline.

Discipline is the single most important skill you need to become successful in life.

It’s what will help you execute on the things you need to get done, including when you don’t feel like doing them.

Everyone can show up and execute when they feel like it…

Very few can show up and execute when they don’t.

That’s where discipline makes a difference.

Make sure you keep the promises you make to yourself...

Execute on those promises consistently...

...and the result will be a more disciplined and gritty version of yourself.

If you’re not sure where to start … the best way you can start developing your discipline is through my free program, 75 HARD.

75 HARD is a mental toughness program which will help you build discipline along with mental toughness, confidence, grit, fortitude, self-worth, self-belief, and much more.

Trust me when I say there is no better way to gain momentum, especially if you're starting over in life.

5. Strive to Make an Impact

If you're starting over, and you want to be successful … strive to make an impact in the world.

That means aligning your life's purpose with something that will have a positive impact on people.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people, and companies, that don't care about you or me at all ... only themselves and their bottom line.

Ironically, one of the best ways to stand out and get ahead in life is by impacting others in a positive way.

This is especially true in business.

More and more people are aligning their spending habits and placing their trust in the brands and people who stand for the right things.

Trust me when I say that you want to be one of them.

Take Action

Whether this was the information you wanted to hear or not, it's the truth.

Starting over in life is not going to be easy for you. It's not easy for any of us.

Don't stew over it. The best thing you can do immediately to start feeling better and making progress is simply by taking action on these points.

Do it or don't ... I can't force you to do one thing or another.

But I promise you this...

If you apply my recommendations and stay consistent...

In no time at all ... you'll be much further down the road than you ever thought possible.
