Most people navigate life under the assumption that success is reserved for a select few "lucky" or "chosen" people.

They believe these successful people were born with talents or advantages that they simply don't have.

This is false.

The reality is ... success isn't reserved for anybody.

It's possible for anyone and everyone willing to do the work required.

Success has virtually nothing to do with talent or circumstance.

It has everything to do with real, tangible skills that you can build and apply.

One of these skills is grit.

...and I don't know a single person I consider to be successful who does not possess it.

If you want to know what grit is and how you can build it too...

That's what I'm going to teach you.

What is Grit?

Grit is a skill.

It's a combination of multiple characteristics like confidence...

Perseverance...

Strength...

Tenacity...

Resolve...

...and mental toughness.

Grit is the discipline and determination required to reach your biggest goals.

Grit is the resilience and strength needed to push through any obstacle or challenge that presents itself.

Grit is the ability and willingness to keep getting back up after getting punched in the face over and over again.

There is no easy way to develop grit.

Grit is built in conditions where extreme pressure is applied.

The harder "it" is...

Whether it's a new venture...

A challenge...

A task...

...or anything in between...

The more grit you will develop through facing it head-on.

People with grit are able to undergo any trial and pass even the most difficult tests on the path to becoming truly great.

It's a skill you will need.

If you want to build grit...

I recommend you employ these methods.

How to Develop Grit

1. Set Massive Goals

The first component to building grit is setting and pursuing massive goals.

Massive goals require massive action.

Massive action requires massive effort.

This is where grit is built.

It's by pushing through the hardship and daily challenges you'll face on this path.

Small and attainable goals require small action.

Small action requires small effort.

...and as a result of pursuing small goals...

You will never be able to build grit or any of the skills you need for anything more than an average life and an average level of achievement.

Set and pursue massive goals if you want to build grit.

It will force you to think and act bigger.

It will force you to face obstacles and challenges big enough to develop true grit.

2. Execute. Especially When You Don't Feel Like It

There will be plenty of days when you don't feel like executing on the things you know you need to do to be successful.

I have these days.

You have these days.

We all have these days.

But if you're looking to develop the skill of grit...

You have to show up on these days and execute regardless of how you feel.

If anything ... these days are the MOST important because they are offering you an opportunity to become stronger and build grit.

These are your test days.

Everyone can show up and execute when they feel motivated.

Very few can show up and execute when they don't.

This is the biggest difference between the people who win in life and the people who lose.

You're gonna have to force it through the hardship.

When you do...

You'll build grit.

3. Take Risks

If you live your life in avoidance of risk...

You will never build the grit necessary to become truly great.

The process of taking risks and putting your back against the wall is one that will pay massive dividends in the form of grit and progress.

I'm not telling you to do anything stupid.

Going to the casino and betting your entire paycheck on black would make you an idiot.

You have to take calculated risks, meaning you've actually put thought and consideration into the potential outcomes of the risks you're taking.

Leaving your full-time job to go all in on building your own business is a calculated risk.

Re-investing your paycheck into the growth of your business is a calculated risk.

Hiring a new employee is a calculated risk.

Stepping up and taking full ownership of a project is a calculated risk.

Producing a new product to bring to the market is a calculated risk.

Any risk you take should be with the intention of helping you reach your long-term goals.

You will build grit by taking these risks and doing anything and everything in your power to make sure they pay off.

You will always have a lot more to gain than you have to lose.

Stop overvaluing what you have right now.

Recognize the potential and value in risk.

Even when you take a risk that doesn't pay off...

You will be presented with an opportunity to learn, grow, build grit, and better navigate risks you take in the future.

4. Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable

There is no growth in comfort.

It will be impossible for you to develop grit without a commitment to continually challenging yourself.

The uncomfortable tasks and situations are exactly what will build grit...

But only if you see them through to the end and continue to challenge yourself along the way.

Grit is developed in the process of overcoming struggle.

If you're always comfortable...

You won't put yourself in a situation where you can build grit.

Make sure you are intentionally making yourself uncomfortable by embracing hardship and facing it head-on.

If you're unsure where to start ... I'd recommend 75 HARD.

It's a free and complete transformative mental toughness program that will systematically push you to develop grit daily.

Develop Grit Through Mental Toughness

Grit is ultimately the byproduct of exercising mental toughness.

...and mental toughness is the single most important skill you need to build a life on your terms.

It also serves as the foundation upon which every other skill you need to win in life is built.

Confidence.

Self-Esteem.

Self-Belief.

Self-Worth.

Fortitude.
