I am constantly asked about how I “stay so motivated" all the time…
Or how someone can get motivated…
Or what to do when you lack the motivation to keep pushing toward your goals.
If you’re asking these questions, you need to understand something...
Motivation has nothing to do with becoming successful in life...
Because in reality ... self-discipline is your key to creating the life you want.
Anybody can do the shit they need to do when they feel like doing it...
But, if you want to win, you have to show up and give it everything you've got ... especially when you don’t feel like it.
Self-discipline is showing up and executing regardless of the conditions or how you feel.
It’s showing up to the gym when you don’t feel like it…
It’s giving your all at work when you don’t feel like it…
It’s being present with your family when you don’t feel like it...
It's doing all of the little things that you don't always want to do or "aren't in the mood" for...
...and executing on them to the best of your ability EVERY TIME.
Self-discipline is truly the difference between people who live average, mundane lives…
...and the people who are fulfilled and successful in life. Period.
Here are 6 of the best ways to develop self-discipline…
Discipline is simply executing on the things you say you’re going to do consistently.
It’s really that easy.
What do you tell yourself you’re going to do?
Whatever it is, I would break it down into actionable steps you can take every day to reach your goal(s)…
...and take action on those steps with the intent to execute them flawlessly.
If you don’t…
Your level of self-discipline goes down instead of going up.
If you tell yourself you're going to work out...
If you tell yourself you're going to read 10 pages of a book...
Read 10 pages.
If you tell yourself you're going to make 5 extra calls before you leave the office...
Make 5 extra calls. Not 1, not 2, not 4 ... 5.
Keeping these promises is the foundation for building your self-discipline.
It's a very simple concept, and yes ... some days are going to be much harder than others to get things done...
But that doesn't matter.
You have to execute EVERY TIME.
Holding yourself accountable is crucial to your success.
A huge component to building self-discipline is recognizing when you’re falling short and correcting yourself.
When you learn to identify these situations and take action to fix it...
You'll start to build your self-discipline.
Finding someone else to hold you accountable is also a great strategy…
But don't use it as a crutch or an excuse...
YOU need to develop the discipline.
Power through the things you know you need to do, regardless of how you feel...
That's how you'll build self-discipline.
The reason why most people don’t follow through on the things they need to do is because of the excuses that pop into their head.
They think…
“Well, I’ll just start my diet on Monday because I have a social event this weekend.”
If this is how you think...
You need to re-train your brain to recognize these excuses, and take action despite the excuse.
When you choose to take action in these moments, you’ll be making massive progress with your self-discipline.
Excuses will confine you to a miserable life.
Quit making them.
Build your self-discipline by setting challenging goals and accomplishing them.
Doing hard things requires you to be disciplined.
One of the best things you can do to build your self-discipline is through my mental toughness program, 75 HARD.
75 HARD is designed to help you develop skills such as self-discipline…
Mental toughness…

Fortitude…

Self-belief…
Self-worth...
...and much more.
Making the commitment to yourself for the next 75 days will be the best decision you’ll ever make in your life.
Don't you want to become one of those people who seems to win at everything they do?
You can.
Start 75 HARD, and watch your life completely transform.
If you’re trying to stay disciplined to certain tasks in your day, make them a part of your daily routine.
Structure can be super helpful when it comes to staying disciplined.
If you are consistent with WHEN you do tasks throughout the day...
They become a natural reaction...
They're second nature.
When you make this routine habitual…
Self-discipline will be a byproduct of you sticking to your routine.
If you have things you're looking to be disciplined to...
Write them down, and focus on accomplishing your tasks every single day.
This is a strategy I've used for over 20 years to develop self-discipline.
I call it The Power List.
I take 5 critical tasks for the day, and put my focus into completing them to win the day.
When you win enough days, you win the week.
When you win enough weeks, you win the month.
When you win enough months, you win the year.
If you win enough years, you win in life.
But, you have to start by staying disciplined TODAY.
Every day is an opportunity for you to win and practice self-discipline.
Without self-discipline, you will accomplish nothing of significance.
Self-discipline is a skill...
You have to develop it through action.
The best thing is, the more self-disciplined you get, the easier it is to build upon.
You have to become self-disciplined if you want to be successful.
It’s not an option…
It’s a requirement.
