Most people have no idea how to build their confidence.
In fact, these people think that confidence is a God-given gift.
Some people are born with confidence, while others aren't...
Which couldn’t be further from the truth ... by the way.
Confidence is a skill.
It takes years to cultivate confidence through your actions...
…and if you’re not as confident as you want to be…
Don’t worry...
I’m going to tell you exactly what you need to know how to build your confidence and maintain it long-term.
Confidence is being comfortable with yourself and the person you are.
It’s also about having belief in your ability to do anything.
Confidence is simply a reflection of the actions you take.
If you aren’t following through on the things you say you’re going to do…
You can’t have confidence.
If you don’t train yourself to execute regardless of the conditions…
You can’t have confidence.
If you haven’t done anything to challenge yourself…
You can’t have confidence.
This is why I have such a big problem with the "self-love" movement.
You can't be confident or love yourself if you don't put in the work...
Similar to how you can't be happy with your body if you don't take care of it.
Just know that while you can gain confidence…
…you can also lose it too.
So how can you build and maintain your confidence long-term?
Here are 4 of the best ways to build your confidence.
If you say you’re going to do something…
You better do it.
There is no more effective way to build your confidence than by staying true to your word...
...and following through.
When you execute on the tasks that you say you’re going to do…
You prove to yourself what you’re capable of ... which is a huge confidence builder.
On the flip side, if you don’t stay true to your word…
Or you fail to execute on what needs to get done…
You’ll start to doubt your ability to execute…
…and as a result, you’ll hurt your self-confidence.
So make sure you always back your words with the necessary actions.
If you say you're going to work out...
Work out.
If you say you're going to stay late at the office to get ahead...
Stay late to get ahead.
If you say you're going to run a marathon...
Run a marathon.
Believe it or not, it is that simple.
But the actions required are not.
Take action anyway.
It's worth it.
Everyone is different...
On top of that, most of what you see on social media is just the spotlight of the great times in people’s lives…
Not the reality of people’s lives.
So when you compare yourself to others…
You’re going to feel like you’re far behind.
That's because you're comparing yourself to something that is either exaggerated or not even real.
So quit comparing yourself to others.
What you should be doing is comparing yourself to who you were yesterday.
You should be pushing to improve your standards…
Pushing to improve your skill set…
Pushing to improve your level of execution.
That’s what’s really important…
Becoming 1% better every day.
These day-to-day micro-improvements end up equating to huge improvements over time ... which will help boost your confidence...
But only if you focus on you, and you alone.
Confident people are so confident because they’ve proven to themselves what they are capable of through doing challenging things.
That’s why you have to challenge yourself if you want to build your confidence.
What’s something you’ve always wanted to do but weren’t sure if you could do it?
Start a business?
Compete in a triathlon?
Commit to a diet?
Whatever it may be…
Now is a great time to pursue it.
You just have to see it all the way through to the end.
If you fall short of reaching your goal…
It’s going to have a negative impact on your confidence.
Confident people are always looking for the next challenge.
This is how you can maintain and build your confidence too.
Keep challenging yourself.
Confident people don’t quit.
They constantly overcome the urge to quit...
No matter what the circumstances are.
This is extremely important if you want to build confidence...
...and it even goes hand-in-hand with sticking to your word.
If you say you’re going to do something…
But it gets too hard…
…and you decide to quit…
You aren’t going to be confident.
You have to see things through to the end.
Remember ... confidence is built through execution.
When you quit, you're telling yourself that you can't do it.
Which will destroy your self-belief.
If you want to be a confident person...
Don't quit.
Ever.
Confidence can drastically improve the quality of your life as a whole.
It will positively impact your relationships…
Your career…
