I think it's fair to say that we all want to be better versions of ourselves.

If you don't...

This isn't the place for you...

Because the truth is ... I'll probably say something that's going to hurt your feelings.

But my job is to tell you what you need to hear to succeed in life...

Not what you want to hear.

So ask yourself...

Why do you want to improve?

Do you want to be a better family member or friend?

Do you want to progress your career and earn more money for a more secure future?

Do you want to build the skills you need to contribute more to your business or community?

I personally believe that it's our obligation to be great.

Not only for ourselves ... but also for the people around us.

When you do everything you can to be the best version of yourself possible ... the people around you will take notice and follow your lead.

What Does It Mean to "Better Yourself"

When I talk about bettering yourself and being the best version of yourself possible ... what I'm really talking about is personal development.

It's putting in the hours and hard work to reach your potential...

...and the truth is, your potential is limitless...

That's because there's always something you can learn from or improve on.

It doesn't matter how good you think you are or how much you think you already know...

You can always be better.

You can always build more skills...

You can always learn new information...

You can always improve your craft...

The better you become ... the better your life will become.

Bettering Yourself Starts With You

Nobody can put in the work for you.

If you want to better yourself, you have to commit to developing yourself every single day.

Not just Monday through Friday...

Not just on days you feel like it...

Every day.

Are you up for the challenge?

Are you willing to put in the gritty work to become a better version of yourself?

If your answer is yes ... here are 5 habits you should develop if you want to better yourself.

1. Read

One of the best things you can do every day to become a better version of yourself is reading 10 pages of a personal development book.

No, I'm not talking about 50 Shades of Grey or Harry Potter...

I'm talking about non-fiction books that provide real value.

I'm talking about books that you'll learn new information from...

I'm talking about books that will give you a fresh perspective...

These are the kinds of books that will help you become a better version of yourself.

I'd like to thank a lot of my success in life to reading.

You'll be amazed by how big of an impact reading can have on your life too.

Do I necessarily like reading?

No.

But I love the result...

...and that result will show up in the money you make...

The relationships you have...

The career you build...

The house you live in...

The car you drive...

...and so much more.

2. Spend Time Every Day Improving Your Craft

I'm not saying you have to be working every single day...

If you want to ... you absolutely can.

What I'm saying is you should spend some time every day learning new skills that will help you become a master of your craft.

Let's say you run your own company...

Are you doing something every day that will help improve the business?

It could be something to fix your day to day operations...

It could be learning and implementing new leadership skills...

It could be trying new marketing strategies...

You get the point.

You should be doing things that will help you become a master of your craft.

3. Do New and Challenging Things

The only way to improve yourself is by getting uncomfortable.

Well, what better way to get uncomfortable than by intentionally doing the uncomfortable things?

There is no better way.

Have you considered running a marathon?

How about dieting for 30 days without cheating?

Or what about doing an ironman?

If you're not sure exactly where you can start to challenge yourself as a whole...

75 HARD is a great option for you.

75 HARD will also help you build skills such as mental toughness...

Fortitude...

Grit...

Confidence...

...and so much more.

So what are you waiting for?

4. Practice Being Disciplined

Greatness requires discipline.

You need to practice discipline on a daily basis...

Which means you have to do things to build your discipline.

So what are ways you can practice discipline?

I would start with this simple exercise that I do every day...

Any time you have the chance to fix something or execute at the highest level possible...

You should do it.

If there's a piece of trash on the ground ... pick it up.

If there's a spill or a mess that you come across ... clean it.

If you still have work to do after your scheduled hours for the day ... stay later to finish.

If you use the bathroom ... make sure you wipe your piss off the toilet seat and wipe the sink clean.

If you say you're going to wake up at 5 AM to work out, get up at 5 AM to work out.

You see...

The amount of discipline you exercise in your life will be directly reflected in your level of happiness.

And there is no better way to improve in all areas of life than by increasing your personal standards.

I'm talking about the standards you live by...

These standards will dictate the outcome of your entire life.

That's a fact.

5. Plan and Execute

I’m sure you’ve already started thinking of multiple ways you can start becoming the best version of yourself.

That's great.

Just make sure that after you have your plan in place…

You execute.

That’s how winners do it.

A plan is nothing without action.

I can tell you everything you need to know to become a better version of yourself…

But at the end of the day ... I can't do the work for you.

That’s up to you.

You have to go out and do the gritty tasks and actions that are required to improve yourself.

Personally, I like to keep it simple...

I plan and execute on 5 tasks every day that are going to bring me one step closer to reaching my goals and becoming a better version of myself.

This is the same game plan that I’ve run for the past 20+ years…

I call it The Power List.

All you have to do is reverse-engineer your goals into 5 critical tasks every day.

If you complete all 5 tasks ... you win the day.

If you fail to complete all 5 tasks ... you lose the day.

Your success with the Power List ultimately comes down to discipline.

Will you execute, or not?

Start Becoming the Best Version of Yourself Today

What’s keeping you from becoming the best version of yourself?

Here’s a hint…

It’s you.

Have you ever considered just how much you’re leaving out on the table?

One thing is for sure…

We can all do better.

Think about the person you could become.

Think about what that will mean for your life and the people around you.

Remember, when you set the standard for excellence…

Others will follow in your footsteps.
