Confidence is a key element in achieving any level of success in business and life.

Without it, you cannot win.

Confidence is a sense of security in your ability to execute and accomplish whatever it is you set your mind to.

Without it ... Your goals will not be possible.

You need confidence to confront and overcome the obstacles, challenges, and work required for a big life.

So ... How do you become more confident and build yourself into someone who believes their biggest goals and dreams are possible?

How do you become more confident in your ability to execute and handle any problem that presents itself?

Confidence Vs. Arrogance

Understand that there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance.

Confidence is a realistic assessment of your abilities.

This is a skill you must build and earn.

Arrogance is an unrealistic assessment of your abilities.

It's self-appointed and the result of your un-tamed ego.

If you have not done anything difficult to prove to yourself what you are truly capable of...

You cannot have true confidence.

Neither can anybody else.

Make sure you understand that before we get into what it actually takes to build confidence.

A lot of people are arrogant ... Even though you may assume what they have is authentic confidence.

It is not.

Do not be fooled into thinking that confidence is a character trait you are born with.

It must be forged in the flames.

Confidence will build your life.

Arrogance will destroy it.

How to Be More Confident

Confidence is a skill.

...and like any other skill...

It must be built and exercised regularly to maintain and grow it.

Because the truth is ... Confidence is perishable.

You cannot go out...

Earn your confidence...

Then sit on your hands for the rest of your life and expect to maintain a high level of confidence and self-belief.

To think you would still have confidence at that point would be arrogant.

It's less about what you've done...

...and far more about what you're doing to maintain and earn higher levels of self-confidence.

The minute you quit putting in the work to maintain your confidence is the minute you will start to lose it.

That's the truth.

So, how do you build the skill of confidence?

1. Confidence is Built Through Execution

Building confidence is quite simple.

You build it through execution.

It is through keeping the promises you make to yourself.

You have to take action.

You have to keep moving.

It does not matter how many courses you take...

It does not matter how many books you read...

It does not matter how many podcasts you listen to...

It does not matter how many events you attend...

Preparation will not give you true confidence.

Only execution will.

Make a list.

Do the list.

When?

Now.

Remember: You cannot be confident in yourself unless you have proven to yourself what you are capable of accomplishing.

By setting and achieving bigger and bigger goals...

Your confidence will scale relative to the work required for you to reach these goals.

You've probably heard the quote "the work always comes before the belief."

...and to some degree, it's the truth.

Because self-belief and confidence go hand in hand.

Execution is what will bury your doubts, insecurities, and worries 10 feet deep.

Highly-confident people are confident because they've put in the work and have the receipts to prove it.

Show up to execute on a plan day in day out while maintaining the highest standards possible.

Confidence will come as you begin to produce results.

Yes ... This will take time.

...but it will also be worth it.

2. Confidence Requires Challenging Yourself Regularly

I want you to consider something for a second...

If you were to go out and execute on the same routine every single day for the rest of your life...

...and you never demanded anything more than that of yourself...

Do you think you would gain more confidence?

Do you think you would gain less confidence?

Or do you think your confidence level would remain the same?

Most of you will say "my confidence will stay the same."

That is false.

In fact, your confidence will most likely decrease.

Why?

Because by never challenging yourself or pushing yourself past the limits of what's comfortable for you right now...

You will begin to doubt whether any greater level of achievement is even possible for you.

...Meaning your confidence will decrease as a result of you "maintaining" your current actions and habits.

Understand that there is no such thing as maintaining.

You are either growing or dying.

Always.

...and maintaining is really just allowing others to pass you by.

You cannot build confidence and continue to build upon your confidence level if you are not consistently putting in the work required to get better.

You have to push yourself to produce bigger and better results.

Which is why I talk a lot about setting massive goals.

Small and "attainable" goals do not push you.

They don’t teach you anything.

If you can reach them with your current skillset and level of knowledge…

It’s not a challenge.

You are not making progress.

You are not growing.

Confidence is not a one-and-done.

You have to constantly raise the bar.

3. Commit to Bettering Yourself

The more you work on yourself, the more confidence you can and will build.

...and there is no limit to the amount in which you can improve yourself.

You can improve yourself physically.

You can improve yourself mentally.

You can improve yourself spiritually.

You can improve yourself by developing new skills.

Your limit in these areas is only defined by the limits you impose on yourself.

If you want to build confidence and continue to build it long-term...

Make the commitment to becoming better every single day.

Doing everything that you know you need to do on a daily basis to make yourself better than you were yesterday will give you a massive sense of accomplishment and pride which will ultimately lead to higher levels of confidence in time.

That's exactly what it takes.
