"If you can dream it ... you can achieve it."
We've all heard this before.
But is it true?
Let me be the first to tell you...
It is 100% true. No question about it...
The problem is, most people see their dreams as just dreams ... instead of potential realities.
They sell themselves short and make compromises on their dreams ... which ultimately keeps them from ever reaching them.
This is because they don't believe that their biggest dreams are an actual possibility for them.
So what do they do?
They don't make a plan.
They don't take action.
...and in most cases, they don't even try.
It's sad.
You only have one life.
If you want to make the most of it...
You need to pursue your dreams.
After all, you are capable of achieving them.
But what does it take to achieve your dreams?
If you can dream it, you can achieve your biggest goal.
But, the process of achieving them is going to be very hard...
A LOT harder than you think.
Not only is it going to be a lot harder…
But it’s also going to take you a lot longer than you think.
Here are some tips that can help you with achieving your dreams...
When you free yourself to start dreaming big and take action to reach your biggest goals and dreams...
People are going to have something to say about it.
Most of the time, they're going to laugh ... roll their eyes ... and say things like...
"You need to be more realistic."
"You'll never be able to do that."
What you have to understand about these people is this...
They aren't able to see outside of the realm of what's possible in their life.
You need to start surrounding yourself with people who are going to support your dreams ... while pursuing their own dreams in the meantime.
These are the people who are going to act as propellers for your success journey instead of anchors.
There's no doubt that you are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with.
Your environment, including the people you associate yourself with, has a huge influence on who you are as well as who you're becoming.
So make sure the people you choose to be around are those who will help push you to greatness.
Self-doubt is one of the biggest reasons why people never reach their goals and dreams.
It's ultimately what keeps them from even starting in the first place.
Since they underestimate their ability so much, they don't consider their dreams to be possible...
So they never try.
But, how do you get rid of self-doubt?
Take action.
Start building momentum.
Do difficult things.
You aren't going to believe in yourself until you've proven to yourself what you're capable of.
So eliminate this self-doubt through taking action.
It's the only way.
How do you climb a mountain?
One step at a time.
How do you reach an enormous goal or dream?
No differently...
One step at a time.
When you first set out to climb a mountain, and you look at the summit...
You think...
"How am I ever going to get to the top?"
The same can be said about your goals and dreams.
The only thing you can do is quit focusing on the destination...
...and start focusing on the individual steps it takes to get to your destination.
This is something that has helped me out, and something I still focus on to this day.
I use a tool called The Power List.
The Power List helps me keep track of the tasks I need to complete in order to take one more step toward my goals and dreams.
If you're curious about The Power List, and how it can help you with achieving your dreams ... you can read more about it here.
The point I'm trying to make here is that you should be focused on the actions you're taking to reach your dreams instead of the dream itself.
If you execute on every step of the journey...
You won't have to worry about whether you'll achieve your dreams or not.
It will be automatic.
Becoming successful and reaching your biggest dreams in life is all about showing up and executing ... especially when you don't feel like it.
Consistent action gives you a result.
If you're inconsistent in the actions you need to take to reach your goals and dreams...
Don't expect to ever reach them.
I'm being serious.
You have to build momentum and form habits around the tasks that will help you accomplish your goals and dreams.
Even if you are doing everything you can to reach your dreams…
They are still going to take time to materialize.
Stay patient and hungry.
Act with urgency ... while understanding that you won’t get the result tomorrow.
This is a concept I call aggressive patience.
…and when you implement it…
If you have big dreams ... Which I'd assume you do, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this...
You have to understand that the process of accomplishing your biggest goals and dreams is anything other than easy.
You're going to be faced with obstacle after obstacle...
You're going to have to keep going long past the point of wanting to quit.
You're going to have to execute your critical tasks every single day regardless of how you feel.
All of these reasons and more are why you need mental toughness.
It's the single most important skill you need to achieve your goals and become truly great.
This is a skill I show you how to build in my book, The Book on Mental Toughness.
