Every time I've made a decision based on feelings or emotions...
It was the wrong decision.
Every time.
You need to understand that your feelings are not facts.
If you want to make the best decision possible...
You need to learn how to take a step away from how you feel and focus on the facts of the situation.
This is just as true in business as it is in your personal life.
When you can train yourself to detach from your emotions...
You will win.
If you can't learn how to critically think...
You will lose in life.
Let's say you want to buy a house.
You start looking...
You tour a few homes...
Then you find the one.
It has everything you need and want.
You become emotionally attached to the house...
Even though you're informed that the house has serious foundation issues.
Another house is available that you've had your eyes on as well, but it's missing some of the "wow factor" that the house with foundation issues has.
Which house do you buy?
Your feelings will tell you to buy the house with foundation issues.
It's everything you want and need, right?
But would purchasing that house be the best decision when it comes down to logic?
Of course not.
The house is in need of serious repairs and potentially even demolition...
...meaning it could cost you a lot more in the future.
If you can't critically think through this scenario and what's going to be the most logical decision...
You're going to end up with big problems on your plate.
...and that's just one example of why critical thinking is so important.
It forces you to examine the facts.
Understand that the facts are the guiding light to bring you to the best decision possible.
Even though you don't want to make decisions based on your feelings and emotions...
That isn't to say that your feelings are bad.
It's normal to experience emotion, and it shouldn't necessarily be suppressed...
You just shouldn't let emotion get involved in your decision-making process.
For example, are you going to eat a pizza while you're on a diet ... simply because you feel like it?
No ... that wouldn't be the logical decision to make, even though that pizza would be delicious.
What you need to understand is that it's okay to experience emotion...
But your actions should not be in-line solely with your emotions.
Your emotions will cost you time...
Money...
...and ultimately your success and happiness in life.
Is that really worth the short-term gratification of making an emotional decision?
Absolutely not.
When it comes to the decision-making process...
You should always be on the side of the facts...
Not your feelings.
The facts are going to give you the clear, unbiased, and logical decision to make every time...
Your feelings can misguide you and ultimately lead you to the wrong decision.
This isn't rocket science either...
It can just be hard when most of us are so conditioned to act out of emotion.
Trust me on this...
The sooner you can detach yourself from your feelings and start focusing on the facts...
The sooner your life will improve.
The hard times in life are like storms.
Eventually, the sun will come out again.
It’s not a matter of if the sun comes out again…
It’s a matter of when...
Society has left most people confused about what it takes to be truly confident.
You aren't born with confidence...
You can't buy confidence...
You can't fake confidence...
As an entrepreneur, I’ve worked with people who have varying degrees of formal education and experience.
Some of them have very little experience and a lot of formal education…
Some of them have very little formal education and a lot of experience…
Some of them have a little bit of both...
