Anybody who is in business has experienced anxiety over the sales process. That’s normal. What’s also normal is that the people who can’t overcome that anxiety are going to crash & burn in business. That's too bad. Because there’s no reason that social anxiety over sales has to torpedo anyone’s dream of building a multi-million-dollar business. There are proven ways of dealing with your fear & getting to the point you actually enjoy the sales process. That’s what we talk about in today’s podcast.
Businesses ask me all the time, "how can we get our customers to trust us?" Trust is incredibly important. But when people ask me that, I already know something is wrong with their thinking. In this episode, I explain why, and identify what you really need to do to establish the kind of rock solid trust that leads to loyalty - which is THE quality you want in your customer base, in order to build a wildly profitable business and brand.
Whenever I tell people that they need to carry themselves with confidence and act like the MFCEO of their own lives, I always get someone who says something like this: “That’s easy for you to say, Andy. Because you really are a CEO. It’s easy to walk around with some swag in life when you actually hold a position with some status.” They don’t get it. The disposition comes before the position. In this episode, I explain what that means and why it’s critical to your success.
What do all these things have in common? “In God We Trust.” An Eagle. The Greek heroes Achilles and Odysseus. The Roman hero Aeneas. Wealth. Excellence. Impact. Legacy. The MFCEO Project. 100-0….and YOU. In this episode, I answer that question, identify the driving force behind the 100-0 movement, explain what’s at stake, and issue a challenge. Listen like you’re life depended on it…because it does.
Being decisive doesn’t mean you always make the right decisions. It means you know how to make a decision quickly & intelligently & keep moving forward, learning to adapt to whatever happens as a result of your decision. In this episode, I talk about how this decide/adapt/keep moving forward skill is not only found in the most successful, most highly paid CEOs, but in people who are absolutely crushing every aspect of their life.
All the so-called "experts" tell us to ignore our weaknesses and focus on our strengths. There's truth in that, but not across the board. The reality is, we need to determine whether our weaknesses are just inconvenient annoyances, or whether they are something that will destroy our business or life, if we don't do something about it. There's a process to dealing with our weaknesses, and there's a way that a good leader helps others deal with theirs. That's what this episode is about.
What's keeping you from being successful is your inability and lack of capacity to tell the truth. Throughout your day, you have the opportunity to say the things that people need to hear, but you don't do it. You don't want to hurt people's feelings. You don't want them to be mad at you. Whatever the reason, you buffer what you say or don't say it at all. But until you learn to speak the truth clearly and directly, you're never going to be the type of person who becomes wealthy or successful.
My buddy Ryan Michler from Order of Man joins me in the studio and we get riffing on topics like accepting responsibility, mastering skills, and taking back control of your life, whether it's in the area of career or relationships or whatever. There’s a plague of victim mindset running through our culture and it has to be stopped. If you're infected by it, I can’t stop it for you. You have to do it yourself and in this episode we tell you how.
When we’re trying to learn something new and accomplish a huge goal everyone else thinks is impossible, we should say, "it's easy." That's what my guest in this episode thinks, & he should know. Charlie Jabaley was an awkward fat kid who became a successful executive in the hip hop industry. He also set a goal to become a a real athlete & Nike ended up giving him a call. Trust me: he knows how to create the life he wants & in this episode, we tell you how you can too.
