You Don’t Need A Degree To Win

Thinking you need a college degree to build a great career or create a great life is bullshit.

Am I saying college is useless?

Absolutely not.

There are professions where formal education and a degree are required.

If that’s the path you choose…

Go get the degree.

But this idea that everybody needs one to become successful?

Bullshit.

I’ve never hired somebody just because they had a college degree.

I don’t give a shit if they have one.

Because when it comes to the things that actually determine how successful you’re going to become…

A piece of paper isn’t very high on the fucking list.

You know what is?

Your ability to execute.

Your attitude.

Your skills.

Your work ethic.

Your willingness to learn.

Your commitment to getting better.

Your ability to keep your word.

Your ability to solve problems.

Your willingness to do the shit other people won’t.

Your refusal to quit when things get hard.

…and hundreds of other things that you have complete control over right now.

Those are the things that make you valuable.

Those are the things that create opportunities.

Those are the things that separate you from everybody sitting around waiting for someone to give them permission to win.

If you dedicate yourself to becoming so fucking good at what you do that nobody can ignore you…

You can build a great career.

You can make a shitload of money.

You can create freedom.

You can build a life on your own terms.

College can be a great tool if your path requires it.

But don’t confuse the tool with the requirement.

You don’t need a degree to win.

You need to become valuable.
