The single best habit I've developed to create massive wins in life is reading.

Books are extremely valuable resources that you can use to make significant progress in any area of your life.

Your relationships...

Your business...

Your mental and physical well-being...

Your skillset...

Your mindset...

Reading will help you make significant progress in all of these areas and more.

Quit numbing your mind by scrolling through social media and binge-watching the newest show on Netflix.

The benefits of reading will far outweigh that which you are missing out on by choosing to make this investment in yourself and your future.

That's a fact.

What Are the Benefits of Reading?

The act of physically sitting down, focusing on, and reading a book is a powerful practice.

...and when you make this an intentional, daily action of yours...

You will strengthen your ability to remain present and focused on what's going on directly in front of you.

When we're constantly barraged by noise and negativity...

Our mind can grow weak, dull, and unfocused.

Sitting down to read will help you develop this skill.

...and this skill will translate to every area of your life.

But this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the actual benefits you can derive from reading.

Expand Your Skillset

When you pick up a new book...

That book should be geared toward helping you get better and build new skills.

If it is not...

You are doing yourself a disservice.

Books are the greatest resource for learning and developing new skills.

Select books that address areas in which you are looking to grow your skillset.

There are books for anything and everything...

Some that could literally create such a massive shift in your life that you'll end up revisiting them time and time again to refresh yourself on the lessons.

I know this is certainly true for me.

The right books will help you build skills.

Guaranteed.

Increase Your Value

By reading books...

Extracting the knowledge, experiences, lessons, skills, and perspectives...

Then applying these things to your life moving forward...

The more value you provide ... the more your value as an individual will increase over time.

...and the amount of value that you can provide will have a significant influence over the life you are able to build for yourself.

You will be rewarded in life in direct proportion to the amount of value that you provide.

These rewards will come in the form of opportunities...

Income...

...and far more than you could ever imagine.

Start reading.

What you can extract from books will help you provide far more value than you ever could without doing so.

Gain or Change Your Perspective

There is no better way to gain perspective than through reading.

Books are stories, guides, and lessons given to you by people who are much further down the road ahead of you.

Their experiences have led them to knowledge and perspectives that if you adopt...

Can help you create massive success and save yourself a significant amount of time along the journey.

This is what you'll get from reading.

...and even if there's only one thing you can take away from the book that makes you think about something slightly differently than you were before...

It will be worth it.

Avoid Making Mistakes

One of the many benefits of reading is your ability to “skip the line” on your journey toward success.

So, what do I mean by that?

There’s a huge chance your goals overlap with someone else’s.

Someone who has been there, done that, and was thoughtful enough to provide others with a roadmap of their process.

Books will help you learn from other people's mistakes and failures so you don't make the same ones yourself.

This will save you an immense amount of time ... effort ... and energy.

You won't have this advantage without books.

I know what problems I had to deal with in building multiple companies from the ground up to be successful.

A lot of those problems could have been avoided had I simply known what to expect, and what solutions were available to me.

Tips For Reading

Reading is not an easy habit to develop.

It takes consistent, daily, intentional effort.

If you want to adopt this habit and stick with it long-term ... I have some recommendations to help you.

1. Read 10 Pages a Day

Reading does not have to be a massive daily commitment.

Nobody has the time to sit down and read an entire book every day.

Nobody said you have to do that either.

Don't give yourself the monumental task of reading more than you can make a daily commitment to.

I read 10 pages every day.

Just 10.

Everyone can make the time to read 10 pages.

...and while that may not sound significant...

10 pages will have you on pace to finish at least 1 book every month.

So if you're thinking about reading as if it's this massive pain or investment of time...

Understand that 10 pages a day is all you need.

2. Swap Out Doom Scrolling or Watching TV

Many people believe they "don't have the time" to read.

In this case ... I recommend taking time that you would normally spend in front of the TV or your phone screen and replace it with reading.

This isn't supposed to be a comfortable task.

It will become easier for you with time.

3. Always Have A Book on Hand

Most of us have natural lulls in our day.

Have your book on hand at all times and use any down time you get to your advantage.

It will help keep you locked in and focused on making forward progress in your day.

This will also help train you to use your time more effectively.

4. Read Books that Address Your Weaknesses

You will never get any better or make any progress if you aren't actively working on developing in the areas you struggle.

We all have holes in our game.

Instead of ignoring these holes...

We need to address these areas.

Reading is a great way to do this.

By picking up books that will help strengthen your skill set, give you perspective, and help you make progress in these areas...

You can eliminate the holes in your game over time.

All the knowledge and information you need to address these weaknesses can be found in books.

5. Read Books by People Living the Life You Want For Yourself

We all have someone we admire and look up to.

We all have someone we look at and think "He/She is living the kind of life I want for myself."

If this person has written a book or several books...

I highly recommend you read them.

They will offer valuable insight on their own experiences and how they got where you're trying to go.

...and while I am not telling you to copy these people...

What I am suggesting you do is pull as much information from them as you can for direction and inspiration for your own life and journey.

Why wouldn't you take advice from people who have literally done what it is you're trying to do?

You'd be stupid not to.

6. Sharpen Your Mindset

When you first start reading, it is highly unlikely that it will come naturally to you.

It will be hard to focus.

It will be hard to retain the information.

...and it will be even harder to take that information and apply it to your life, which is the entire reason you should be reading in the first place.

That's why you must build the skill of mental toughness.

It is the single most important skill you need to win in every area of your life and maintain the discipline needed to keep the promises you make to yourself.

This includes reading.

In my book, The Book on Mental Toughness...

You will learn lessons that will be invaluable to the rest of your journey to becoming successful in life.

It is a guide, a resource, and a tool you can refer to at any time to strengthen the skill of mental toughness and take complete control of your life for good.

I recommend you start here.
