You are the CEO of you.
If you work at McDonalds...you don't work for McDonalds...you work for you.
If you work at Wal-Mart...you don't work for Wal-Mart...you work for you.
No matter what your paycheck says at the top...understand...YOU ALWAYS WORK FOR YOU.
What do I mean by this?
Most people get stuck on the hamster wheel of life because they think that the job they have is just temporary and they are waiting around for the next opportunity...so they coast.
They come to work with no ambition, no pride, no drive, & no care.
They hide in the corner and work as much as they need to...to not get fired.
They say things like "I don't get paid for that" or "that's not my job" and proceed to coast their life away.
What they fail to realize is that you are constantly in the process of developing discipline & habits.
These habits dictate your path in life.
And most people do not realize this. They think that when the right opportunity comes along they'll flip on the light switch and do the work.
But it doesn't work that way.
In the REAL WORLD...not only can you not go from being a lazy underperforming piece of shit, to kicking ass in the flip of a switch...the "perfect opportunity" will never come along, because opportunity only comes along to people who have developed the habits & skills to justify the opportunity.
Think about that for a second.
Opportunity is earned. It's earned and presented to qualified individuals who have DEVELOPED the habits and skills necessary to potentially succeed at the given task...and these people developed those habits & skills long before the opportunity was presented to them by taking the "temporary jobs" seriously and understanding that the habits they create are what will carry them through to a successful life.
YOU WORK FOR YOU. Always.
And it's your obligation to yourself and the people that depend on you to be the fucking best at ANYTHING you might be doing at the moment...regardless of whether that's going to be your end game or not...because it's not "the job" you're screwing by half assing shit...it's you.
