Not caring what people think is a discipline.
Once you understand that ... it changes the game.
If you spend even one unit of energy worrying about what other people think of you...
That's a unit you will not have to improve yourself.
People will always believe the story they tell themselves about you over the version you tell about yourself.
So why fight that?
It's a battle you can't win.
Instead, utilize that same unit of energy you used to spend worried about people’s opinions of you ... and spend it on actually building your life in a productive way.
This is a legitimate measurable advantage over the long game.
That's how you win.
Eventually ... whether you develop this understanding through discipline...
Or just as time passes...
You will realize how irrelevant people's opinions of you are in reality.
...and if you develop the discipline early...
You'll be extra glad you chose not to let the irrelevant noise distract you.
You don't want to be the person wishing they hadn't listened to the peanut gallery 20 years ago when you had the time and opportunity to do something with yourself.
