The whole world is infatuated by the idea of getting a college degree.
Am I against education?
Absolutely not.
There are certain noble professions for which you need to go to college to get a degree … doctors, lawyers, nurses, etc…
I respect that.
But to think that going to college is a must for any career is just not right.
Our youth is sold a lie that college is a gateway to a safe and secure future with a stable income
…that when you graduate college, there are companies waiting outside for you with a 6-figure job on a silver platter.
That’s almost NEVER the case!
There’s so many people who get straight A’s in college, only to fall flat on their face when they get out in the real world.
No one is actually concerned if they were really “learning” something in college.
Intelligence is not cramming and vomiting facts from a textbook.
Intelligence is about operating & learning from real situations in the real world.
Intelligence is being faced with a real problem, and figuring out the solution.
That’s how learning in the real world is done.
That’s what we need more of in the education system.
At the end of the day … I’ll take the high-school dropout who takes the initiative to learn on their own & has real world experience over someone who got an A+ on their World History project.
