I’m thinking of you today.
Although we never met & you weren’t here for a long time...your life mattered...a lot.
I don’t take your sacrifice for granted.
I will continue to do the best I know how to make sure it mattered in a positive way.
It's not always easy, but when things get really hard...
...like really hard...
I think of you.
I think to myself that you didn’t die for me to bitch out when things get tough.
I often also think that it would be an insult to not at least make a genuine attempt to truly maximize my potential, because you didn’t have that opportunity.
When I think of you...
I feel it’s my duty to be the best American I can be.
I feel it’s my duty to do my best to live an honorable life.
I’m proud of you, and I want you to know:
You didn’t die for nothing.
It mattered.
A lot.
For a lot of reasons.
A lot of really good reasons.
Not everyone has forgotten.
Lots of us remember.
We won’t forget.
Thank you.
