I’ve heard it all.
"You're a dreamer"
"You're being unrealistic"
"You're crazy"
"You're selfish"
"Your priorities are messed up"
"Andy, you need to get a real job" back when I was sleeping on a piss-stained mattress in the back of our first retail store.
I think about that every single day....and do you know how fucking thankful I am I didn't listen to them?
One of the best things that comes along with setting big goals is you get to find out who your "real" friends are and who really has your best interests in mind.
Take notes and beware of those who work to convince you that your goals are unrealistic, unnecessary, unobtainable, meaningless or unimportant.
Beware of those who work to discourage you into straying from your goals.
Beware of those who try to make you feel guilty for wanting what you want.
These people, and we all have them, have long ago sold themselves on the idea that they would never obtain the life they really want and have given up on their own future.
They seek comfort in working (sabotaging) to ensure the misery (mediocrity) of others so that their own lack of progress won't be so obvious.
This is your life.
This is your ONLY life.
Do whatever the fuck you want.
Do it the way you want.
NEVER let anyone stand in your way.
Nobody has power over your goals except you.
Do your work.
Do it consistently.
Do it perfectly with pride in the smallest details.
The results will be there.
Period.
