Never let anyone tell you that having material motivations is somehow wrong or selfish.
I've been obsessed with cars ever since I was a kid.
They've always been a significant driving force in my business and life.
If it weren't for my love of cars...
I never would have been able to push through the struggles that stood in the way of my ability to make a real impact.
There'd be no businesses.
No jobs built.
No culture established.
No lives changed.
None of it.
The journey to building a life of true meaning and impact is a bloodbath.
It will take every last drop of your blood, sweat, and tears.
...and in the beginning of that journey...
The days you'll want to quit will outweigh the days you don't 100 to 1.
Cars kept me from quitting.
Am I saying that cars are the only thing that motivates me?
Absolutely not.
My motivations have continued to evolve over the last 25+ years in business.
So will yours.
I'm being very literal when I say I'm driven far more now by seeing other people go out and win big in their lives.
Nothing gets me more excited.
...But it didn't start that way.
It started with material motivations.
As long as you use these motivations to provide real value to others...
There's nothing selfish about them at all.
Never let anyone tell you any different.
