When most people are presented with a new opportunity...
They get excited...
They get motivated...
...and in the beginning they attack every day with urgency, enthusiasm, and discipline.
But what happens when a few weeks pass?
What happens when a few months pass?
What happens when a few years pass?
They start to lose excitement and let their foot off the gas when the opportunity is no longer shiny and new.
...and because they don't put the same level of energy and detail into their daily tasks as time goes on...
They get “burned out" … and move onto the next opportunity to start from square 1 all over again.
The people who win big in life are much different…
They understand that while the journey ahead of them will get boring at times...
Winning long-term comes down to showing up and executing with the same level of urgency and attention to detail EVERY SINGLE DAY … whether you're excited to do it or not.
I call this "Mastering the Mundane."
It doesn't matter if it's day 1...
It doesn’t matter if it’s day 1,000...
It doesn't matter if it’s day 10,000...
The minute you start taking your foot off the gas is the minute you start to lose.
Mastering the mundane is a requirement for success.
...and if you don't learn how to develop this skill...
Somebody else will pass you by.
