“Maintaining” is a Myth

Andy Frisella speaking into a microphone

You may think you can collect a few wins and coast.

You may think you can get to a good spot and "maintain.”

You may think you can reach a certain level of achievement and let your foot off the gas.

Kick your feet up.

Drink a few too many umbrella drinks.

…and live happily ever after.

The reality is much different.

The minute you start to get comfortable and reduce your speed is the minute you'll start going backward.

This isn't because you are actually going backward...

But while you choose to do nothing and stay the same...

Everybody around you will continue to keep moving forward by showing up and getting better every single day.

Over time, these people will catch up to you...

Pass right by you...

...and fucking destroy you long-term.

Understand that regardless of what you've accomplished...

You will never be done learning, improving, or achieving.

"Maintaining" is a myth.

Forward or backward.

That's all there is.

It’s a daily choice.

What are you choosing?
