One of the best habits you can develop in order to become successful in business and life is picking up a book...
Reading the book...
Absorbing the lessons...
...and applying those lessons.
In fact, if I were to credit my own success in business and life to anything...
It would be reading.
But here's where most people get confused...
When I say reading, I'm not talking about the same shit everybody else reads to pass the time...
I'm talking about books that give you perspective...
Books that help you see things differently...
Books that help you develop new skills...
Books that give you the lessons and experiences from people who are much further down the road than you are.
The knowledge you get from one paragraph in the right book can literally shift the outcome of your entire life ... and I know that's certainly true for me.
I don't consider myself an intelligent person by any means...
But because I've made the commitment to myself to just read 10 pages of a book every single day for the past 20+ years...
And because I understand clearly that if I spend 4-6 hours reading a book and get one single idea/thought or concept out of it … it was worth my time (and not surprisingly my time is worth a lot more these days because I understand this).
The lessons and information I've absorbed from books is ultimately what has helped get me to where I'm at.
When you make the decision to start doing this for yourself and your development...
You'll see just how big of a competitive advantage reading can give you.
Start today.
Every day that you wait is another day you'll keep yourself from getting where you're trying to go.
P.S. All that shit I just wrote means absolutely nothing if you won’t take the information and apply it.
Nothing happens without execution regardless of how much you read, know or understand.
