Most people have big goals and aspirations in life.
But when you ask them about the specifics of their goals and dreams...
They don't have an answer for you … because they've never taken the time to establish the exact details about what it is they want to accomplish.
They'll say shit like, "I want to own a business."
Or...
"I want to make a lot of money."
Or...
"I want to get in good shape."
But the reality is...
If these people were actually serious about achieving their goals...
They would paint a highly vivid and detailed picture about exactly what they plan to accomplish.
Vague goals will get you nowhere because they can't be measured.
Vague goals can’t be reverse-engineered and broken down into daily actionable items to execute against.
You can’t get somewhere you haven’t even chosen to go.
If anything...
Vague goals only expose a lack of true intention and an unwillingness to put in the work required.
Instead of setting a goal to "Get in good shape"...
Take the time to consider every single aspect of what that will look like.
How will you feel physically and mentally?
How will your clothes fit?
What will you be physically capable of doing?
...and that's just to name a few of the details you should consider.
Now do that for every area of your life.
Then look at it like a movie.
What would that movie look like to watch?
The bottom line is this:
If you aren't extremely specific about exactly what you want ... you’ll never have it.
Stop generalizing.
Get specific.
It’s required.
Otherwise you get what you get and you shouldn’t be willing to take that risk with your life.
