Early in our lives, we're heavily influenced by the expectations and rules established by society and those around us.
They give us a framework for how we're "supposed to live."
As we begin to age, mature, and develop our own set of values and beliefs...
We start to question whether these expectations and rules have any real control over who we truly want to become.
Trust me...
They do not.
Most people spend their entire lives blindly adhering to these expectations and rules out of fear and because "it's what everybody else does."
This is also the reason why most people aren't remembered a day past their expiration.
Understand that some rules are meant to be broken.
...and the longer you live inside the boundaries of what society considers to be acceptable...
The less time you'll have to build a life on your terms.
Figure out who the fuck you want to become and become it.
Surrendering yourself to the terms and conditions laid out for you by other people is a one-way ticket to an average and miserable existence.
Break yourself free.
The only expectations and rules you should adhere to are the ones you set for yourself.
Fuck what anybody else thinks or has to say about it.
You only get one life.
Make it the one you want.
