You’ve Got Work To Do

October 16, 2026 2 min read

The dumbest thing you can do is expect to be great at something you haven't put in the work to get good at.

Every person you look up to…

Every person who inspires you to chase something bigger…

Every person who has done anything considerable in their lives…

…has spent countless hours as a beginner.

Thousands of hours learning…

Failing…

Making mistakes…

…and figuring shit out.

But somehow, you think you're going to show up for the first time and crush it?

How the fuck does that make any sense?

You're going to suck at it first.

People might laugh.

People might question what you're doing.

Some people won't understand what you're trying to build.

So what?

If you're too afraid to look like an idiot while you're learning…

You're going to spend your entire life watching other people do the things you were too scared to try.

…and you'll pay for it.

Misery.

Mediocrity.

Frustration.

Anger.

Bitterness.

Regret.

That's what waits for you when you let fear and pride make your decisions.

Get the hell out of your own way.

Put yourself in the game.

Stop worrying about how you look and start focusing on what you need to do to get better.

Nobody becomes great by sitting around protecting their ego.

You earn greatness by showing up, putting in the hours, making the mistakes, and doing the work when nobody is watching.

You don't get to skip the beginner stage.

You don't get to bypass the struggle.

…and you sure as hell don't get to expect extraordinary results without extraordinary effort.

The only way to stop sucking is to keep showing up and putting in the reps.

So get to work.

Put in the hours.

Learn from your mistakes.

Take the criticism.

Keep getting better.

Do it long enough … and one day the people who laughed when you started will be watching you do what they never had the balls to attempt.

Let them laugh now.

You've got work to do.
