There Will Always Be People Who Criticize You

Have you ever heard the story of The Man, The Wife, The Donkey, and The Critics?

A married couple was headed to town with their donkey. They were walking with the donkey next to them on a leash.

They passed some people who noticed them and commented "How stupid of them! They are walking when they have a wonderful donkey to ride!"

The couple heard them, felt embarrassed, and decided that the wife would get on the donkey for the rest of the way.

A little ahead, another group of people said "What a shameful woman! She is riding the donkey while her husband walks in the hot sun. No respect!"

The couple heard that, and decided to switch positions. Now the husband was riding the donkey, while the wife walked beside it.

Not even a minute later, the couple heard another comment: "Look at that! Such masculine toxic behavior. He is riding the donkey, while making his poor wife walk. Disgusting!"

The couple looked at each other in disbelief, then decided to ride the donkey together.

They passed some more people who shamed them ... saying how awful it is to put so much load on the poor animal.

The couple thought they were right. They got frustrated and decided to just carry the donkey over their shoulders.

Struggling and sweating, they didn’t even make much progress when they saw some people laughing at them and saying, "What a crazy couple! Carrying a donkey over their shoulders!"

Moral of the story?

If you keep listening to other people, not only will you waste your time…

You'll also destroy your progress and your peace.

No matter how much money you have, no matter what work you do, or what part of the world you live in...

There will always be a group of people who will not agree with you...

...and point out "mistakes" in what you do.

Carefully assess what YOU want with your life...

...and figure out what your talents and strengths are.

Make a plan...

Do the work...

Do what’s right...

...and put laser focus on your goals.

If you let yourself become influenced by what other people say…

You will never get what you want.
