The title of "Leader" is not given...
It's earned.
...and it's earned by serving the people you lead through your actions and example.
Most people think otherwise.
They think that being a leader is being "in charge" and telling people what to do.
They think that having “a title” makes you a leader.
They think that they have to wait to lead until someone tells them they are a leader.
...But this, among many other reasons, is why most people are shitty leaders.
Leadership is organic.
It’s not a title.
It’s not a position.
It’s not a “right.”
It’s earned through action.
Being a great leader is no different than being the tip of a spear...
It's the dirtiest, bloodiest, and most damaged.
Which means if you want to establish yourself as a leader...
You have to go first.
You have to hold yourself and THEN your team to a high standard.
You have to drop your ego and be willing to admit when you fuck up.
You have to audit your actions and intent.
You have to put the mission first over everything … even yourself.
You have to make plenty of difficult decisions that not everyone is going to agree with.
You have to seek discomfort and train your team to do the same.
...and you have to do these things consistently with 0 compromise.
Only then can you earn the ability to be seen as a leader amongst your team.
Yes ... being a great leader is hard as fuck.
...But it's also required for the success of the team and the mission.
The world needs more real leaders.
You are supposed to be one of them…
…or you wouldn’t be reading this.
