Never Set “Realistic” Goals

August 27, 2026 1 min read

Stay away from people who constantly tell you to set "realistic" goals.

Average people love realistic.

They love attainable.

They love reasonable.

Why?

Because your ambition makes them uncomfortable.

They don't want you to outgrow them.

They don't want to watch you accomplish something that forces them to confront the fact that they could've done more with their own life.

So they'll tell you to be realistic.

They'll tell you you're doing too much.

They'll tell you your goals are impossible.

Fuck that.

The second you start asking yourself what's "realistic"…

You've already put a ceiling on what's possible.

Whatever your goals are right now…

Scratch them.

Make them bigger.

Then make them bigger again.

I'm talking 100X bigger.

Because every person you admire…

Every person who's built something incredible…

Every person who's accomplished something most people thought was impossible…

Had to believe in something that looked completely fucking unrealistic at some point.

They didn't ask average people for permission.

They didn't shrink the goal until everybody around them felt comfortable with it.

They decided what they wanted…

And they fucking went for it.

You should do the same.

Set goals so big they make average people uncomfortable.

Then go become the person capable of making them real.
