Being the villain is just part of what happens when you start taking yourself seriously.

The second you level up...

People will start calling you selfish.

The second you set a real standard...

The ones who can't hit it will start calling you arrogant.

Good.

Let them talk.

Let them whine.

Let them tell whatever version of the story helps them sleep.

Who gives a fuck?

They need you to stay small.

You need to win.

Only one of you gets what they want.

If you listen to them...

You'll be like them.

If you being the villain in their version of the story is the price of avoiding that...
