Be Honest About Where You Are

July 31, 2025 1 min read

Most people belong to one of two groups.

The first group thinks they're God's gift to the world.

They know everything and can do no wrong.

They've stopped learning.

They've stopped growing.

They've stopped working.

...and they still think they can win.

They're wrong.

The second group has given up before they started.

They make excuses for everything.

They're paralyzed by fear.

They doubt in their abilities.

...and they think they're worthless.

They're also wrong.

These people aren't as good as they think they are ... nor as bad as they think they are.

Neither are you.

The truth is...

You're somewhere in the middle.

Which is exactly where you want to be.

Real winners know they have work to do.

They know they're not perfect.

They know they can get better.

But they also know they're capable.

They know they can improve.

They know they can win.

This balance keeps them hungry.

It keeps them humble.

It keeps them working.

If you think you're already great, you'll stop trying.

If you think you're hopeless, you'll never start.

Both will keep you stuck.

Learn to have an honest conversation about where you truly stand.

Then get to work on wherever it is you want to be.

It's the only way you can win in the long run.
